Formed in February 2015, MILWEL is a small, family-run business started by me, Richard Milton, and my wife, Abigail.
After 10 years of trading, MILWEL is still very much a family business. We’ve grown slowly and steadily, with a small team of top-quality, multi-skilled tradespeople who can turn their hand to all sorts of construction jobs around North Devon. We mainly cover Barnstaple, Ilfracombe, Bideford, South Molton, Combe Martin, Torrington, Bratton Fleming, Challacombe and the surrounding areas.
We take on all kinds of work, from site jobs for local firms and subcontracting our groundwork services, to being the main contractor on domestic projects.

Over the years we’ve built up good relationships with local suppliers and other trades in the area. Hard work and honesty have helped us build a solid reputation and plenty of trust around North Devon.
At MILWEL we believe our team members are our biggest asset. We lead with trust and consideration, and we want our team to enjoy what they do- it’s not just a job to us. We invest in training and qualifications, and try to make time for a few fun days too. Recently we’ve put some of our lads through their Street Works tickets, which means we can now take on drop-kerb installations that need council approval.
Between our skilled team and other connections we have made with other local tradespeople, we can cover most jobs with us as the main contractor and one point of contact for our customers’ peace of mind.
When it comes to pricing, we are very competitive, but we’re most proud of being thorough, professional and leaving every job looking spot on, leaving the best end result possible.
